Teaching Empathy: A Blueprint for Caring, Compassion, and Community - book and CD
Teaching Empathy gives educators the tools to teach the pro-social skill of empathy to help create a culture of caring in their schools. This involves recognizing and naming the skill, practicing it, modeling it through action, and encouraging it in others. Teaching Empathy includes a CD of music by the author that corresponds with lessons in the book. Educators can develop the skills to recognize, name, model, and encourage empathy in the classroom, incorporate empathy using strategies such as social skills learning, cross-training and rituals, and the fishbowl, create a School of Belonging for all students, and help students understand how and why to make empathy a part of their lives forever.
